The Acting OUTREACH Program provides programming to designated community sites on a weekly bases during a semester using the same concepts as the teen acting out theater program and JMU students as trained mentors and facilitators.
JMU students are trained in the following areas to work with teens:

Site Coordination

Site instructors work with the faculty program director and a team of JMU students

  • A set of topics are developed with the site instructor and the youth
  • A weekly schedule, generally the same day and time are agreed upon
  • All activities are age appropriate and as much as possible based on the realities of the participants
  • Interested sites with youth grades 5 – 12 are invited to contact us.
